Most people assume I work with Dr. Cody because I’m married to him. That’s not entirely the case.
I first started receiving chiropractic care for migraine headaches when I was in college. After my first treatment, I was amazed at how much a chiropractic adjustment could release so much stress and tension in my neck and relieve my headaches.
Dr. Cody is a wonderful, caring and knowledgeable chiropractor and nutritional practitioner. He truly wants to help people live their best life. Every day, I get to see and hear about how much his chiropractic care and nutritional support help people reclaim and maintain their health; and that’s an exciting place to be. It amazes me to this day that patients drive hours to be treated by him. What a compliment!
My role has really become one of a patient advocate and problem solver. There are times when a patient finally gets established with our office, and voices their frustration to me about other practitioners giving them the run-around or that their needs were not really listened to. Throw pain and fatigue into that frustration and that person is not a happy camper.
So, I really enjoy helping those people navigate through the health care system (I suppose that could be implied as a “sickness” of sorts!). I love going above and beyond for our patients by making sure there is a good flow of communication whether it be about their health insurance, getting them the appropriate imaging or referring them to a specialist. And, yes, I return phone calls in a timely manner.
When I’m not working, we love heading up to my hometown near Lake Almanor. We love kayaking and spending time on the lake, and taking walks in the woods. I also am a genealogy nut, and love the detective work that’s involved in finding out where I came from. By the way, did I mention I’m related to Abraham Lincoln?!!!
